Rare WWII German Military 50 Reichsmark Banknote – Verrechnungsschein (Sept 15, 1944) – Pick# M41

$85.00

Description

Up for sale is an authentic piece of World War II history: a 1944 German Wehrmacht 50 Reichsmark Verrechnungsschein (Military Clearing Note).

Issued late in the war on September 15, 1944, by the Reichskreditkassen in Berlin, these unique banknotes were strictly intended for use by German military personnel for official travel and service transactions. The text at the bottom explicitly notes that its use in general civilian commerce was strictly prohibited (“Seine Verwendung im allgemeinen Zahlungsverkehr ist verboten”).

The note features a highly detailed, intricate brown and multi-colored geometric security pattern, distinct large “50” counters in all four corners, a prominent “50” watermark medallion, and the official Reichskreditkassen seal on the lower left. The back of the note features a blank design, which is correct for this historical issue. Perfect for military historians, WWII collectors, and world paper money enthusiasts.
